I am Matthew Martin and I am a Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education and PhD student.
My lecturing role focuses on training people to become teachers, mainly in the secondary setting. My lectures are mainly about educational psychology, the psychology of learning and remembering and behavioural sciences.
I am studying for my PhD with the Social Psychology of Education Research Group at the University of Worcester. My research focuses on the social psychological reasons as to why teachers decide to leave the profession in the United Kingdom.
My broader academic interests include identity, masculinity, cyberpsychology, mental health and teacher retention. My academic CV can be found below.
The purpose of this blog is to provide me with space to muse and write about what interests me: psychology, mental health, history and food! If you have any questions or want to get in touch, please use the contact page.
